APPLE CRUMBLE with salted caramel Sauce



3-4 apples, diced

1 egg

125grams melted butter

1/3 cup sugar

2 cups self-raising flour 

1 teaspoon cinnamon powder

 Salted Caramel Sauce 

1/3 cup brown sugar

1/3 cup cream

3 tablespoons butter

1 good pinch of salt


  1. Preheat oven to 190 degrees Celsius

  2. Melt butter and set aside to cool

  3. Place diced apples, sugar, flour and cinnamon powder in a bowl and mix together

  4. Combine melted butter and egg in a small bowl

  5. Add butter mixture to flour and apples.  Mix lightly to combine

  6. Line a 20cm round baking tin with baking paper and pour mixture into the baking tin

  7. Bake in oven for 45-50 minutes until golden brown  

  8. Remove from oven and set aside to cool

To make salted caramel sauce, place sugar and butter in a small sauce and cook on medium heat until the sugar dissolves.  Add cream and salt and stir well to combine.  Remove from heat and drizzle over apple crumble.  Serve with ice cream.
